Childhood
(Pregnancy to 11 years)
Topics related to: educational, nutritional and preventive care during pregnancy and childhood. Examples include topics:
  • to reduce the risks of transmission of cariogenic bacteria,
  • to reduce the incidence of malocclusions and other oral or systemic pathologies,
  • to foster enhanced patient communication & motivation, and life-long healthy habits
Adolescence
(12-18 years)
Topics related to strengthening autonomy in self-care, health promotion and disease prevention. Examples include topics:
  • to empower self-care and biofilm control through digital tools, motivational approaches, and more,
  • to enhance awareness of risks related to smoking, alcohol and eating disorders,
  • to foster enhanced patient communication & motivation, and life-long healthy habits
Adulthood
(19-65 years)
Topics related to an integrated approach between oral healthcare and medical care for the maintenance of oral and general health. Examples include topics:
  • that demonstrate a direct impact on quality of life and productivity through prevention of chronic oral & systemic diseases,
  • that highlight innovative, personalised prevention approaches and equity of access to those services,
  • that demonstrate appropriateness, quality and continuity of care, comprehensiveness of services, sustainability, efficiency and active patient participation,
  • that enhance patient motivation & communication
Old Age
(65+ years)
Topics related to special treatments, public health policies for the promotion of oral health and the prevention of oral diseases in the presence of old age or frailty. Examples include topics:
  • that explain polypathologies,
  • that highlight reduced functional autonomy,
  • that ensure a multidimensional assessment of the elderly patient to include good chewing function, proper nutrition, effective speech and a satisfactory quality of life through an integrated approach
